About The Speakers

Dr. Jeffery Jones

The Rev. Dr. Jeffery D. Jones, is Distance Learning and Associate professor of Ministerial Leadership at Andover Newton where he has served the school since 2002. In addition to teaching courses, advising students, and participating in faculty governance, Jeff will become Andover Newton's Director of Ministry Studies eginning this summer. In this role he will provide leadership for the school's Field Education program and special initiatives such as the Woodbury Leadership Workshop and the LEARN Program. In keeping with his committment to the ministry and the renewal of the local congregation he also serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Plymouth, MA. Jeff graduated with both his M.Div. and D.Min. degress from Andover Newton, served American Baptist congregations in New York and New Jersey, and provided leadership in religious education at the national level in the American Baptist Churches, USA. Among his publications are Heart, Mind and Strength: Theory and Practice for Congregational Leadership, Travleling Together: A Guide for Disciple-Forming Congregations, and Parenting with Love and Laughter: Finding God in Family Life as well as numerous books on youth ministry and Baptist history and principles. He is a frequent speaker at denominational events and a consultant with congregations focusing on issues of discipleship and leadership in a postmodern and post-Christendom world.

Jennifer Craig

Jennifer Craig is the Vice President for Insitutional Advancement at Andover Newton. She previously served as Minister of Financial Development for the United Church of Christ. Prior to joining the UCC staff, Jennifer worked for nine years on the UCC's Executive Council, and chaired the Development Committee. She has participated and led fundraising efforts in multiple independent schools, as well as in arts, environmental and civic organizations. She chaired the board of Fenn School and oversaw development of their strategic plan, and served as well as a trustee of the Belmont Day School. Jennifer holds an AB from Smith College and an MBA from Harvard University.
