We welcome Aubrey Adam Barr as she shares about her work in the battle against pediatric cancer.
Aubrey Adam Barr is the namesake of a fund and major fundraising campaign for the Pediatric Department at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York. Her survivorship of childhood Leukemia in the 1970's marks a turming point in cancer treatment through chemotherapies developed at MSK. Inspired by her gratitude and to further augment such advancements, The Aubrey Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research and Treatment was created in 1997.
Since the funds's inception, Aubrey's fundraising efforts exceed $600,000. Together, she and hundred's of marathoners have raised over $35 million for pediatrics through the Fred's Team marathon program at MSK. Her involvement spans 30 years, during which she has completed 40 marathons with the team. She is also the guest speaker at private functions and special events for the institution.
Aubrey's professional background includes 15 years in the financial services industry; specifically, marketing and communication for retirement services. She has held part-time positions while she and her husband raise their two children in Massachusetts. She enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering in her local community and of course running.
