BBSUYoron Israel and High Standards is an instrumental quartet based in Boston, MA. It is led by internationally acclaimed drummer, percussionist, composer, music director, and educator Yoron Israel. Yoron is celebrating his new recording, New Dreams. His musicality and versatility are no less than brilliant and appreciated worldwide, with illustious credits that include eleven critically acclaimed recordings as a band leader, and over two hundred and fifty major recordings as an accompinist. He also serves as Chair and Professor at the esteemed Berklee College of Music.
Since their formation in 2012, Yoron Israel and High Standards have been celebrated for forging ahead standard and original compositions with virtuosity, toe-tapping groove, and imagination. As such, they have mesmerized audiences worldwide. Together the four instrumentalists blend their artistic and personalized perspectives with the revered history, traditions, and musical influences of Jazz, R&B, Word, and Gospel idioms, as evident in their past recordings, including Visions - Tribute to Stevie Wonder, and This Moment - Live in Boston.
Along with Yoron Israel, the ensemble features Jacques Swartz Bart - saxophones, Kevin Harris - piano & keyboard, and Avery Sharpe - acoustic & electric bass.
