Meeting after Dinner

Andover Newton Night!

Our meeting will feature some of the Andover Newton faculty and staff. We will hear from

  • The Rev. Dr. Nick Carter, President of Andover Newton Theological School.
  • Rev. Judith Sutterlin, an American Baptist Churches missionary serving as an Amity teacher in China.
  • Dr. Robert W. Pazmiño, Professor of Christian Education, will speak on the topic: Andover Newton: A Partner with the Church - I Corinthians 3:4-9.
  • Evan Page, Senior Advancement Officer and Capital Campaign Director, will speak about The Capital Campaign for ANTS!

Dr. Carter announced the construction of the new chapel on the campus. The building project is the first in many years on the campus. It will be jointly shared with Hebrew College.

Mr. Evan Page encouraged the members to support the school in this building project. Much of the funds needed to complete construction has already been pledged.

Dr. Robert W. Pazmiño, who prefers to be called “Bob”, declared the Baptist churches in New England as partners with the school and part of the ANTS family.

Rev. Sutterlin, told of her work in China. She works with Amity International, which assists rural Chinese school teachers in learning to speak English. English speaking students will have the best opportunities for placement in Chinese universities.

Joining us for the evening were four students from Nagaland, India. They donned some of their native clothing and shared a few of the songs from their churches. They are (left to right) Mangyangtemjen Imsong (Andover Newton Theological School), Atula Jamir Imsong (doctoral student at Boston University), Asu Jamir and Tali Jamir (Andover Newton Theological School) .

All through the dinner hour we were blessed with the piano music of Geoffrey Dana Hicks. Geoffrey Dana Hicks
