The Committee on Christian Work
The Boston Baptist Social Union elects a committee from its membership to consider requests for grants for Christian work in the Boston area. The committee operates by the terms of the wills of its benefactors. The committee is responsible for issuing and overseeing grants for Christian work.
Grant Submission Times
Requests for grants for the fiscal year April 1 to March 31 are to be received by the 15th of February.
Guidelines for Completing an Application for a Christian Work Grant
The following guidelines should be kept in mind when making an application for a grant.
- Grants are generally restricted to work in the Greater Boston Area.
- Grants are typically under $10,000, but larger amounts will be considered.
- You will need financial information for your organization. Obtain a copy of the most recent audited financial statements. Prepare a budget for your project for the year.
- You will need the organization's tax identification number and proof of 501(c) tax status.
- Grant requests received on or before the deadline have a better chance of being funded.
