Welcome William Evans, Boston Police Commisssioner
Boston police Commissioner William Evans will be the special speaker for this evening.
About the Speaker
William Evans was born and raised in South Boston. He was one of six brothers and lived in a triple decker. He lost his mother when he was only three years old, a brother when he was nine, and his father when he was thirteen.
Evans graduated from Suffolk University in 1982 and joined the Boston Police the same year.
In November 2013 he was made interim Comissioner by Mayor Thomas Menino and in January 2014, Mayor Marty Walsh made his appointment permanent.
